5 Amazing Societies and Clubs You Would Love To Join As a Business Student
Exploring Extracurricular Excellence
Embarking on a journey as a business student is not all about attending lectures and acing exams. While the classroom provides fundamental knowledge, it’s the extracurricular activities and networking opportunities that truly enrich your education and one of the best ways to enhance your university experience is by joining societies and clubs. These opportunities not only give you a unique experience in the University but also a chance for you to meet like-minded people and expand your circle.
In this article, we will take you through exploring 5 amazing societies and clubs that you, as a business student, may love to be a part of. Whether you’re a fresher or a student looking for something new and exciting this year, this article is for you.
Dundee University Business Society (DUBS)
Of course, we cannot start this article without the most related society for business students which is The Business Society. The Business Society sounds quite obvious but not everyone knows about it. Dundee University Business Society (DUBS) affords you the opportunity to meet friends in the same course or even seniors and have an academic family where you help each other throughout the school year. One of my favourite part of the society is that it really helps freshers and even current students to have a community where they do not only hang out but also help each other academically. It is definitely a great way to socialise and get to know the people who are in the same boat as you.
Debate Society, Math Society, Politics Society, Psychology Society
I know this is quite a bunch haha, but really, any academic society that sparks an interest in you can be your next one. These societies are quite closely related to business/economics as they are skills and knowledge that might help you during your degree. You can join to learn more about them or simply just to expand your community.
Sign Language Society
Dundee Sign Language Society is an interesting one I think many students should know more about. Language is a very important factor in communication and building relationships. And among all the languages that nearly everyone loves to learn like French, Spanish, Japanese, etc. there’s a language that in my opinion, is super important but doesn’t get enough credit for - sign language. So maybe if you’re considering learning a new language or just want to try it for fun, the BSL society is the one for you.
Sport Club
Okay, we have enough of learning. It’s not only important to exercise our mind but also to exercise our body. Doing sports, workouts or just simply moving your body around is a great way to build up your health, improve your mood and even enhance your learning ability. The University has a lot of sports you can join and there are always some give-it-a-go sessions at the start of the semester. So try them out and see if you’re into any!

Education and Social Work Societies
Education and Social Work society is a great one to practice giving out and helping others. You can be part of something amazing that brings people together and creates a network of support for people in need. Ultimately, business revolves around people, and this opportunity presents a wonderful chance for you to connect with the community around you and contribute something meaningful to the world.
As a business student, your educational journey should extend far beyond the walls of the lecture hall. The five amazing societies and clubs we've explored in this article are just a glimpse of all the incredible opportunities you’ll get in the University. You can build lasting friendships, enjoy fun experiences, and develop the skills that you might need later in life.
